SACAQM has been featured in the Sunday Times. The article highlights the groundbreaking work led by Wits University’s Institute for Collider Particle Physics (ICPP), in collaboration with iThemba LABS and global partners, to deploy a network of cost-effective air quality monitors across South Africa.

The feature underscores SACAQM’s recent international recognition, having won the prestigious Global South e-health Observatory (Odess) prize awarded by the Pierre Fabre Foundation in France. This achievement positions the project as a leading example of how AI and physics-inspired methods can be adapted to tackle pressing environmental and health challenges in the Global South.
