The university of the Witwatersrand hosted a workshop organized by SACAQM in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University and the US National Academy of Engineering.

The University of the Witwatersrand hosted the workshop (14th - 15th October 2024) which aimed to support the initiatives of the Afretec in areas such as teaching, learning, knowledge creation, and entrepreneurship. Afretec seeks to enhance the faculty enrichment program, linking engineering and technology with social and business perspectives. This event is the second in a series, following a previous workshop at Carnegie Mellon University Africa from March 10th - 12th, 2024, both endorsed by the US National Academy of Engineering. Afretec is a collaborative network of technology-focused universities dedicated to accelerating Africa's digital transformation.
