Air quality poses serious public health issues in Africa. The AI_r systems from the SACAQM will cover large area at a much cheaper price. SACAQM is collaborating with the Gauteng Department of Education to deployed at the local schools in Soweto, City of Johannesburg and hospitals. By measuring PM2.5 which is closely linked to diseases like cancer and heart attacks, the data from the AI_r is important to drive public health initiatives.
